This week in the MTC

We began teaching an investigator her name is Arobina this week, but as I told you before we had to use no notes.
Its very hard to teach without notes in a language you have only just begun learning. But even though its hard I have noticed that its actually easier, the Language is coming well just fine. I learned a lot this week. We have always just been so busy. When you were in the MTC was it really busy? The Tuesday Night Devotional was awesome, we were taught by Richard J. Maynes Presidency of The Seventy. He taught us about the keys to becoming missionary that has a companionship on fire.

Mom from now on I will tell you if I have my packages, one thing you need to understand though is I can only write to you on P-day. I get 1 hour to write you guys so I will try to answer as many questions as possible. Starting off with Dad, We have 3 elders in my district they are my companions and me. Elder Crosby is from Sandy, Utah and my other companion Elder Helgenburger is from North Caralina, but originally from Pohnpei in Micronesia. We have 2 sisters in our district;Sister Ausage and Sister Ramsin. Sister Ausage is from New Zealand, and her companion is from Pohnpei, same as Elder Helgenburger. I have been participating in the MTC choir for a couple of weeks now. My Branch President is President Willes and he is a great branch president. We taught in Priesthood on Sunday, about the role of the Book of Mormon in missionary work. Whenever its gym time its my time to play volleyball I have gotten quite good at it actually. We have been to the temple twice now and its great way to start P-day. I have learned a lot about how to begin teaching; and following the spirit by asking good questions. We also taught a less active last night he was really are substitute teacher. But it was hard to teach a less active;mostly because they already know what you teach. So it makes it that much more important to build trust and apply the lesson to their needs. I love getting your weekly letters and I enjoy them a lot I do expect to see some Halloween Photos ha ha. Oh that reminds me when it was Halloween, I gave some of the candy you sent to everyone on our floor. And whats still impressive mother is that I still had quite a lot left after. Thank you for thinking of me I do appreciate it.

Translation of Testimony
I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that Families are eternal. I know that Heavenly Father loves us because he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. Because of him, we have the Book of Mormon with us today. I know that I am a missionary of God. I am going to the Marshall Islands to help them receive the light of the gospel. I know that the Gift of Tongues is real. I know that prayer is the most important when you are a missionary. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know that God and Jesus Christ use us for this great work.

Sincerely Elder Bird
