Dear family and friendsThis week has been a whirlwind of learning and inspiration. We went to the temple last sunday and it was great attached are some pictures. I love receiving the Dear Elder Letters from Payton, and all of you at home they always make my day. We have progressed so much in the language, and I know it is only because we live and learn on sacred ground. I'm sorry I didn't get some letters to you I need to locate my envelopes so I can. I have been so busy I forgot about the stamps and envelopes. But, this week I will try to send a handwritten note to all of you. Tuesday Night Devotional was awesome we were taught by Hugo Montoya Of the Seventy. He had a really good message about the 12 B's from President Gordon B. Hinckley. We have started teaching another investigator; when you get to this point they have you teach a lesson every other day for a different investigator. Because of this we are extremely busy preparing lessons to teach every day. We have a thing called TRC this week it was our first time. TRC is when you teach members in your mission language so we taught two 20 min lessons in Kajin Majol. We are preparing to send off the Tongans in our zone they leave next week. Whenever a group leaves for the field; on Saturday we as a zone sing in each others languages. It's really fun ,it will have been the 2nd time we are singing each others languages. Oh I have exciting news on Wednesday we are hosting brand new missionaries. The last time I hosted it was for Senior Missionaries but this time it will be missionaries that are local in the United States. I'm so happy to write you and included our some pictures of my 2 weeks here since last week my converter didn't work. Now some things Brendan should consider when he gets here.He will need some money to buy laundry detergent.I recommend the Tide 32 loads its pricy but it lasts long 10.00He will also need a sd converter from the store in the MTC just make sure he has around 30.00 to get these neccessities. In a package I'm sending Brendan a Spanish Missionary Vocab book I strongly say that he should study it before he enters the MTC. I found it in the trash somebody threw it away, So im sending it to Brendan along with some letters home.

Fall in the MTC
This week in the MTC
We began teaching an investigator her name is Arobina this week, but as I told you before we had to use no notes. Its very hard to teach without notes in a language you have only just begun learning. But even though its hard I have noticed that its actually easier, the Language is coming well just fine. I learned a lot this week. We have always just been so busy. When you were in the MTC was it really busy? The Tuesday Night Devotional was awesome, we were taught by Richard J. Maynes Presidency of The Seventy. He taught us about the keys to becoming missionary that has a companionship on fire.Mom from now on I will tell you if I have my packages, one thing you need to understand though is I can only write to you on P-day. I get 1 hour to write you guys so I will try to answer as many questions as possible. Starting off with Dad, We have 3 elders in my district they are my companions and me. Elder Crosby is from Sandy, Utah and my other companion Elder Helgenburger is from North Caralina, but originally from Pohnpei in Micronesia. We have 2 sisters in our district;Sister Ausage and Sister Ramsin. Sister Ausage is from New Zealand, and her companion is from Pohnpei, same as Elder Helgenburger. I have been participating in the MTC choir for a couple of weeks now. My Branch President is President Willes and he is a great branch president. We taught in Priesthood on Sunday, about the role of the Book of Mormon in missionary work. Whenever its gym time its my time to play volleyball I have gotten quite good at it actually. We have been to the temple twice now and its great way to start P-day. I have learned a lot about how to begin teaching; and following the spirit by asking good questions. We also taught a less active last night he was really are substitute teacher. But it was hard to teach a less active;mostly because they already know what you teach. So it makes it that much more important to build trust and apply the lesson to their needs. I love getting your weekly letters and I enjoy them a lot I do expect to see some Halloween Photos ha ha. Oh that reminds me when it was Halloween, I gave some of the candy you sent to everyone on our floor. And whats still impressive mother is that I still had quite a lot left after. Thank you for thinking of me I do appreciate it.Ijela ke Jisos Kraist jej Ri-Lomoor. Ijela ke baamle ko ad, emaron indeeo. I know that Families are eternal. I know that Heavenly Father loves us because he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. Because of him, we have the Book of Mormon with us today. I know that I am a missionary of God. I am going to the Marshall Islands to help them receive the light of the gospel. I know that the Gift of Tongues is real. I know that prayer is the most important when you are a missionary. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know that God and Jesus Christ use us for this great work.Sincerely Elder Bird
Dear Family and Friends,This week at the MTC has been both exciting and stressful at the same time. On Sunday we had our first sacrament together as companions and missionaries. It was really different, but it was a good different I felt a whole new spirit altogether being in that room. With all of the missionaries from our zone. For your Information Brendan, during the week you prepare a 3-4 minute talk for most sacrament meetings except fast Sunday. But what makes it really intense is you don't know who is going to speak they pick one elder and sister at random. I had a talk prepared on enduring to the end for that was the topic. I wasn't called up to the stand, I felt relieved but also kind of disappointed because I prepared a really good talk. We then went back to our classrooms and had personal study, companionship study, and language study. On that note the language is becoming better and better each day. During this week we have had back to back lessons with our teacher Brother Nelson he is from Kentucky. But, when is our investigator his fake name is Carlson. When we taught Carlson we could have notes but starting next week no notes. I'm so nervous but I also know that it is necessary. Ijela ke Jetob Kwojarjar enajj jipan eo. Ijela ke kajju Jisos Kraist Ij kommane aolep men ko. Ijela ke Ij juon mijinede kon Jisos Kraist. Ijela ke juon rikanaan kon Anij emour rainin. Ijela ke menin letok in loko epad. Ijela ke Kabun eo an Jisos Kraist Im Armej Ro Rekwojarjar ilo ran ko Aliktata emool.Translation of Testimony above) I know that the Holy Ghost will help me. I know that through Jesus Christ I can do all things. I know that I am a missionary of Jesus Christ. I know that a prophet of God lives today. I know that the Gift of Tongues it exists. I know that God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I know that the scriptures are the word of God. I know that the restored gospel was restored by Joseph Smith. I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is the true church.Tuesday it was devotional night and we were taught by a member of the twelve Neil L Andersen he taught us about these eman naan ko Sacrifice, Opposition, Adversary, Deliverance. It was a really good talk, afterwards we had a Devotional review and we shared our thoughts and feelings about the Tuesday Devotional. After that this week has been pretty much the same. Study the Language, learn how to become better missionaries. Go to the gym, for stress relief I like volleyball my zone is all Island languages and most of them come from that part of the world. They are very fun to be around and they are a care-free loving people. Who love to laugh and have a good time.To answer some questions Elder Helgenburger he is from North Carolina but he is originally from Pohnpei, Micronesia. Elder Crosby is from Sandy, Utah. We get along great together and I enjoy the experience and insight they provide in our lessons. There are 5 people in my district. 3 of those include me and my companions we have two sister missionary's in our district. I sleep on the bottom bunk, and yes we all share a room. I did go to the temple on P-day and it was really great. I'm sending some photos of us at the temple during our Sunday Temple walk. I also ran into a bunch of old Friends. Hermana Freeze, Jordan Freeze from Texas and also some friends from Orem High. Hermana(Merilyn)Hulme, Elder (TJ) Greene so yeah it has been fun having a blast in the MTC. I get to host new missionaries this coming Monday NOV 2☺--Sincerely Elder Bird

Their names are Elder Crosby and Elder Helgenburger we are doing great together. We haven't had any problems in fact we are a great companionship. Since this is my first letter I only have 1 photo. I promise though that I will try to take a lot of pictures for next week abwe?
This is what I have been learning in Marshallese in 3 days

In 1820 Joseph Smith lived at a time of great religious excitement.
I have also learned to Pray in Marshallese this week, It was so cool to be able to pray in Marshallese I learned how to yesterday. I want you all to know that I am fine. The MTC has kept me busy though, I have had activity after activity we have already began to see the teaching proscess for ourselves. We attended a meeting entitled People and Your Purpose part 1 We were able to ask investigators the questions they needed in order to fix their life. But it took me by surprise how hard it was to recognize what the investigators needed to know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to fix their lives.
Some things I would like is some 3X5 index cards with something sweet as well (hint hint) but really just the index cards will do ok I need them so I can study my Marshallese constantly my goal is to be as fluent int the Marshallese language as possible
